What length of holiday do you offer?

We do one week holidays (or multiples of one week), we don’t cater for short breaks.

When are your changeover days?

Jill’s changeover day is Friday and Jack’s is Saturday

Do you permit dogs?

We only allow registered assistance dogs to stay.

Are children or infants allowed?

Yes, if an infant sleeps in a cot then they do not count towards the maximum of 4 guests. Children not sleeping in a cot count towards the ‘4’.

Do you provide equipment for infants?

Yes, a travel cot, high chair and stairgate can be provided on request.

Do you provide firewood for the chimenea?

Yes, both kindling and logs.

Is it possible to be seen by guests in the other house?

No, there is good screening on Jack’s eastern deck/balcony to prevent this.

What is the food shopping like nearby?

There are two food shops in the village, one quite large (see ‘Local Info’ page’) and in Fort William there are Morrisons (large), Aldi, M&S Food, Lidl and Tescos (small).

Do I have to take the Corran Ferry to get to Strontian and do I have to book?

It is much easier / quicker to take the 5 minute Corran Ferry if you are coming from the east or south and saves a extra ~60 minutes driving around the Loch. It’s not possible to book, just turn up.

How often does the ferry cross?

It generally crosses crosses every 15 minutes, so from each side every 30 minutes. It crosses more often if it busy and is forced to ‘shuttle’. 

When is the last ferry?

The last ferry from the Corran side (south) is at 9.30pm every night.

Do you have charge points for electric cars?

Not yet but we hope to soon. Guests can charge their cars using the 13 amp supply overnight and we are happy to charge the ‘at cost’ rate for power usage.

 

Do you provide information on walks or maps?

Yes, we provide lots of printed information on walks, places to eat and activity provides. There are also lots of maps to borrow.
